Trauma and Depression
Depression is very common in adults all around the world. According to the National Institutes of Health, in the U.S. adult population, depression affects roughly 9.5% each year. Millions of people struggle with depression throughout their life, and it can sometimes feel like nothing can help. That is a very overwhelming feeling, and I want you to know that you are not alone. There are many different factors that can lead to depression in a person. It can stem from childhood trauma and attachment wounds, or start to form in adulthood from later traumas like relationship or betrayal trauma. For some people there is no specific reason that they experience depression, that is just the way their brain works. Regardless of the reason a person is experiencing depression, it is important to reach out for help to address these difficult feelings.
